[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]We realize that the way modern cities are shaped and the life in them is very complex and multi-layered. We strive to approach this complexity by using tools and methods from different research fields as well as modern practices, focusing on highlighting the experiences, needs, and desires of everyday life.<\/span><\/p>\n

We design anthropocentric methodologies taking into account the characteristics of the social context each time while prioritizing community participation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Raising awareness<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Through raising awareness programs and actions, we enhance dialogue and critical thinking on how we live in modern cities, empowering community feeling and inclusion while combating stereotypes and inequalities. We offer tools for personal and collective awareness, focusing on women and\/or groups that have traditionally been less involved in space planning and decision making.<\/span>
\nOur area of involvement is based on:<\/span><\/p>\n

  • Design and implementation of educational programs and actions<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Exploratory walks with the residents in order to rediscover and recover the neighborhoods<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Workshops, seminars, and training<\/span><\/li>\n

    Urban analysis<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

    An analysis of the urban fabric of a neighborhood with its residents so it allows us to understand the different experiences, needs, and desires of the people who use it daily. The methodological tools we propose are based on the principles of participatory research and observation.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      We undertake design support for proposals dealing with inclusion and sustainability (environmental and social) within all scales of the city (building, public space).<\/span><\/p>\n

        Research<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

        URBANA, not only as a group but also its members individually, gets involved in the research of space and its social correlations by participating in national and European research projects. Research that its members have done is presented in conferences and publications, while collaborations with other members of the academic community interested in similar subjects in Greece and abroad have been developed.
